Enrichment Post-16

Sixth Form student investigating marine life.
One of our previous travel scholars in Cornwall.

We strive to offer a mixture of academic enrichment and personal development opportunities to all our Sixth Form students. Our timetabled curriculum offers students the opportunity to study Core Maths, complete an EPQ, or obtain a Sports Leader qualification, as well as the chance to support younger students across a wide variety of subjects. Other opportunities include:
• Student Leadership Team
• Editorial Team of The Kings Herald newspaper
• Peer Mentoring
• Library support
• Tour Guides
• Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award
• Running KA Klubs
• Various volunteering roles

Our Academic Enrichment Programme involves trips, visits, academic competitions, debates and speakers and is a great source of 'super-curricular enrichment' and is available for all our Sixth Form students.
Students in Year 12 can also apply for a Travel Scholarship, funded by the King Alfred's Educational Charity, which supports them to undertake a trip planned by themselves with some educational benefit.
