In anticipation of the upcoming school year, we want to inform you that we will be reorganising the class groups for students transitioning from Year 7 to Year 8, as we normally do. This change aims to ensure the best possible classroom experience for all students next year. The class groupings will be mixed ability again, allowing students to spend a significant portion of their timetable with the same peers. However, they will also mix with other groups for PE and the range of Technology subjects. Please note that these groupings are not based on friendships but are carefully balanced across the year group, taking into account the extensive information we have about each student.

As we prepare for the next academic year on Centre Site, we want to provide you with information regarding the class groupings for students transitioning from Year 8 to Year 9. The groupings will be determined by the students' subject choices for next year. This structure will offer greater flexibility within the core curriculum and students will have the opportunity to engage with a range of peers across different subjects.

Year 8 undertook their transition day to Centre Site on Thursday 11^th July. They were fully engaged in the day and made the most of the opportunity.

GCSE option choices update: our timetabling staff are studiously arranging classes for next year to try and ensure that every student in Year 9 has their first choices in terms of their option subjects for the start of Year 10. Please assume that, if you and your child have not heard from us by the end of term to discuss an issue, that your child has successfully been given all of their first choices. 

Students have now completed their Work Experience and will return to school on Monday 15^th July. Staff have enjoyed visiting students in their placements and hearing of their experiences and successes
