2023 GCSE and other level 2 results

Congratulations to our Year 11 students at King Alfred’s Academy who have worked hard to achieve well-deserved success in a broad range of qualifications! Although their academic journey over the past five years has been challenging at times, our students have shown resilience and determination and we could not be prouder.

As a result of their efforts, 70% of our cohort have achieved at least 5 GCSE or BTEC qualifications at grade 4 or equivalent with more than 40 students achieving at least 5 qualifications at grades 7-9!

Indeed, our students have much to celebrate with over 120 students achieving 10 or more GCSE or BTEC qualifications, and more than two thirds of our cohort achieving the critical benchmark of at least a grade 4 in both English and Maths – an improvement upon our 2019 results.

2023 A Level and other level 3 results

Headteacher Jonathan Smart was delighted with the 2023 A Level and BTEC outcomes, and keen to praise the hard work and resilience of the Sixth Form students and staff who achieved them. Over a quarter of the grades at A-Level were an A*or A. ‘This is an impressive set of results for the academy. These outcomes are very much in line with the last set of public examination results in 2019. In this regard, these results sustain the reputation of the academy as having one of the highest performing Sixth Forms in the region. I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of students and staff who have together secured these impressive outcomes’.

‘However, more importantly, these results will allow the vast majority of our students to progress to their first choice destination. Each one of the Class of 2023 ought to be fiercely proud of the hard work, dedication and resilience they have all shown over the course of the last two years, both to their own education and to each other. They all deserve the very best life chances in the future, and I am confident that these individual results will help them to take the first important step on their many different journeys with great confidence’.
